Women’s Theatre – The 2nd Actor takes the Lead

Course Description: The course will provide an overview of women in theatre from a historical perspective. Explore roles and themes relevant to group through devising and extracts from classical pieces focusing on women as main characters and challenging traditional and historical views of women in the arts. The workshops will look at the selected works of Italian theatre performer, Franca Rame, theatre practitioner Joan Littlewood and the classical Greek play Medea by Euripides.

Optional – This course aims to culminate in a devised performance piece.
