Burjesta Theatre Workshop – Henry IV Part 2 – Shakespeare’s Histories:
This Wednesday 29th Septermber, 7pm Casa Bar Liverpool, £3/£2
This week we continue our look at Shakespeare’s history plays with Henry IV Part 2 which focuses on the relationship between a sick and dying King Henry IV and his recalcitrant son, Prince Henry (future Henry V), who seemingly prefers the company of drunks and prostitutes to the responsibilities of statehood.
We’ll be looking at some of the choice monologues from the play as well as some comic moments from the prostitute Doll Tearsheet and the poignant scene with Falstaff meeting ‘Hal’ (as he calls Prince Henry) one last time with preparations underway for his coronation.
All welcome beginner or experienced
This series of workshops will lead into an adaptation of scenes from the history cycle into one play for production in early 2017.
