Audition Notice – History of the Vampires – 1st February

We will be auditioning for our latest production ‘History of the Vampires’ on Saturday 1st February at The Casa, Hope Street, Liverpool from 12pm onwards. Audition will be in the form of a workshop followed by script reading and an informal chat afterwards and will last a few hours in total. Please come dressed for a physical workshop, tracksuit, trainers, or similar. There is no need to prepare anything.

This will be our 8th production to date. ‘History of the Vampires’ is an original piece of writing from Burjesta Theatre in the style of horror/black humour. We will be looking for between 8 and 10 actors of all ages and both genders. There are two lead roles –

Professor Muhr – leading vampire hunter
Frederica de generale – trainee journalist, vampire hunter

Aside from these two roles the other actors will play multi-parts, both as vampires and as humans. We are happy to consider beginners/non-actors.

Performance Dates are 10th, 12th, 14th, 16th and 17th May @ The Casa, Hope Street, Liverpool.

There will be two supporting workshops on themes and aspects of the play also at The Casa on Wednesay 15th and 22nd January, 7pm. While it is not obligatory to attend the workshops in order to audition it will probably be advantageous for you in familiarising yourself with what the play is about and what we are looking for.

Please note that, sadly, this is unpaid work. We are not in a position to pay anyone (including ourselves). All money from the production goes into a fund for installing sound and lighting at The Casa, which is our place of residence.
